Raycast

Raycast is a keyboard launcher for the Mac. TransOne adds a one-click way to wire it up, so you can translate the text you have selected from anywhere Raycast reaches, without touching macOS permissions.

What Raycast is

Raycast is a separate app made by another company, a fast launcher you open with a hotkey and drive from the keyboard. You install it on its own. TransOne only hands it a ready-made Quicklink, which is Raycast's name for a saved link you can run or give a hotkey.

Why use it with TransOne

Like PopClip and a plain text link, a Raycast Quicklink builds a transone:// link under the hood, so it needs no Accessibility permission and works everywhere Raycast does. Select text, run the Quicklink (or press its hotkey), and the translation window opens with that text, already translated.

Add the Quicklink

The easy way, from inside TransOne:

1. Open Preferences from the menu bar icon (⌘,).
2. Go to Settings ▸ Shortcuts.
3. Under Quick Actions, find Translate from Raycast, and click Add to Raycast.
4. Raycast opens its Create Quicklink form with the Name and Link already filled in. Confirm it, and you are done.

The manual way, if you prefer to set it up in Raycast yourself: run Create Quicklink in Raycast and fill in these fields, then leave Open With empty.

Give the Quicklink a hotkey in Raycast, and from then on you select text anywhere, press the key, and TransOne translates it. {selection} is Raycast's placeholder for the text you have selected; it fills in the text and encodes it for you, and macOS routes the transone:// link to TransOne, which is why you do not set Open With.

Translate the clipboard or a prompt instead

Swap the placeholder in the Link to change what gets translated: transone://translate?text={clipboard} translates whatever you last copied, and transone://translate?text={argument} asks you to type the text when you run it.
